SuperSlider-Excerpt updated to version 1.2

SuperSlider-Excerpt has been updated! If you haven't tried it out yet, have a look here, notice the mouseover thumbnail animation!

The new WordPress 2.9 has added numerous functions for the end user. Specifically the post thumbnail effects the SuperSlider-Excerpt plugin. I have updated the plugin to use this new feature. Now if you have a post thumbnail defined, ss-excerpt will use that image, if not it checks for a custom field of thumbnail and uses that image, if still no thumb is connected to the post it checks for the first attached image, still no thumb, it looks at the post content for an embeded image, still no thumb, it looks for a category thumb associated with the post, and lastly it will pull a random thumb from your pre defined random thumbs.

You can see the Excerpt plugin in use at this site. Visit one of the category listings, such as the Howto category or the Archives for November 2009. Mouse over the thumbs will morph their properties from one css class to another.

SuperSlider-Excerpt Category thumbnails

To have default category thumbnails for your excerpts you will need to create the desired images and name them cat-yourCategorySlug.jpg. Then upload them to wp-content/plugins/superslider-excerpt/plugin-data/superslider/ssExcerpt/excerpt-thumbs. Or if you have moved the plugin-data folder to wp-content the path will be wp-content/plugin-data/superslider/ssExcerpt/excerpt-thumbs. Accordion toggle all links

Update: nested accordions are now working again as they should. New css class switch for the toggler, now changes display between clicked open and clicked closed. The Accordion module has a new functionality, toggle all, and open-close all links. These elements will be added to your post with the shortcode helper or manually adding:

this is a post with an image embedded which has no thumbnail previously made. SuperSlider-PostinCat widget will use a default image. SuperSlider-Excerpt will use a category specific image if there is one, if not it will use a random thumbnail from the list of random thumbs. New Site Design

New site design for xmas 2009

Yep, I finally did it.

wp-superslider.com has a site design. I had left this site with the default WordPress theme for the past year because I was focusing my time on the plugins themselves. Stop in and have a look, I've done some interesting things with fonts and slidein sidebars. I've also put some time into organizing the content, should be easier to find what you need now. Let me know what you think, and by the way pick up the latest superslider-show plugin update 2.5.2 which fixes a bug with the fromfolder option. Get your update here, and view the fromfolder demo here.
