Superslider plugins updated for WP 3.0

Missing Attachment

I've been updating and making adjustments for the new WordPress 3.0. All superslider plugins have been updated to take advantage of new 3.0 features. Meanwhile superslider-show has a new function/option it's called recent. You can now create a slideshow which shows the most recent post per category.

So with the "recent" option you can include or exclude categories,
You can show latest 1 or more posts from each category.
You can show latest from all categories.

New plugin superslider image

Superslider has a new plugin available. Called the SuperSlider-Image, Provides a shortcode for adding images to your post. Provides an easy way to change image properties globally. At the click of a button all post size images can be changed from thumbnail size to medium size. Changing any default option in the admin/settings/superslider-image page will change that property for all images inserted with the [ image ] shortcode.

SuperSlider launches a new plugin

SuperSlider-Media-Pop adds various image enhancements to your admin panels. It adds image sizes to the Upload/Insert image screen, adding image sizes to be inserted and adding to the image link field options. Insert any image size and link to any image size. You can now insert a slide sized image and pop over a mid size image in your post. Adds thumbnails and attachments to your edit post / page list screens. And also provides an option to set the default jpeg image compression level. I recommend the plugin Faster Image Insert which makes a great campanion for SuperSlider-Media-Pop.

You can get the first publicly available version of this new plugin here at wp-SuperSlider.com. And will also be available at wordpress.org within a few weeks.

SuperSlider-Menu version 2 beta

The SuperSlider-Menu plugin has been rebuilt from the ground up. If you haven't used it yet , have a look here at the demo. If you need a funky new category menu widget this is for you. Have a look at the screen shots below to see the widget control panel and the plugin options screen.

Upgrading

You may need to re-save your settings/ options when upgrading. In fact, a reinstall is recommended. Version 2 has a new css class structure! You will need to rebuild any custom css work.

Known bugs:

* cookied toggler open fails in some usage situations.
* ~~third level down has some issues in the php logic.~~ fixed
* ~~third level down has some issues in the javascript opening and closing functions.~~ fixed

SuperSlider-Excerpt updated to version 1.2

SuperSlider-Excerpt has been updated! If you haven't tried it out yet, have a look here, notice the mouseover thumbnail animation!

The new WordPress 2.9 has added numerous functions for the end user. Specifically the post thumbnail effects the SuperSlider-Excerpt plugin. I have updated the plugin to use this new feature. Now if you have a post thumbnail defined, ss-excerpt will use that image, if not it checks for a custom field of thumbnail and uses that image, if still no thumb is connected to the post it checks for the first attached image, still no thumb, it looks at the post content for an embeded image, still no thumb, it looks for a category thumb associated with the post, and lastly it will pull a random thumb from your pre defined random thumbs.

New Site Design

New site design for xmas 2009

Yep, I finally did it.

wp-superslider.com has a site design. I had left this site with the default WordPress theme for the past year because I was focusing my time on the plugins themselves. Stop in and have a look, I've done some interesting things with fonts and slidein sidebars. I've also put some time into organizing the content, should be easier to find what you need now. Let me know what you think, and by the way pick up the latest superslider-show plugin update 2.5.2 which fixes a bug with the fromfolder option. Get your update here, and view the fromfolder demo here.

Superslider-Show 2.5

Well, it's finally here the new superslider-show 2.5 wordpress plugin

This is a full half version jump, from version 2 to version 2.5. I have added numerous features including the new "featured" option. Plus a Category option, both of which give you new methods of getting content for your slideshows.

This new version is only available here for download at wp-superslider.com for the next week. It will then be available also at wordpress.org

Check it out and let me know what you think. Any issues please direct to the support forum.
