To use the feature option of superslider-show.

Add a custom field to each post/page ( named featured value 1 ) which you want to view in the featured slideshow

Each of the featured posts should have an image attached to the post.

The featured slideshow will pull only the first image from the post

The featured slideshow will use the title of each featured post as the heading of the caption. (default action, can be changed in plugin settings page under captions)

The featured slideshow will use the description from the first image as text in the caption (default action, can be changed in plugin settings page under captions)

The featured slideshow will use the title from the first image as text in the caption link (default action, can be changed in plugin settings page under captions)

Now create your Featured slideshow. On a new page /post.
Add the slideshow shortcode to your new post/page to create the featured slideshow.
Be sure to add id="featured" show_class="featured" linked="parent" to the shortcode.
Optionally recomended options in the shortcode: mouseover="true" controller="false"
That's it, sample shortcode below.
You will want to edit the css classes to fit your site design, there are 4 themes to choose from.

[ gallery id="featured" show_class="featured" css_theme="black" show_type="push" image_size="medium" height="250" width="450" delay="4000" duration="800" linked="parent" fast="true" captions="true" thumbnails="true" thumbsize="minithumb" thumbframe="false" mouseover="true" loop="true" controller="false" clear="both" ]

This above short code results in this show:

As such I recommend that you save the superslider-plugin options with the Login link class: set to : comment-reply-login. Then check your theme file comments.php and search for "comment_registration" if you can't find it, look in the comments-form.php of your theme.

Change this:

 echo wp_login_url( get_permalink() ); " >logged in

to this:

echo wp_login_url( get_permalink() ); " class="comment-reply-login">logged in

This will open the login panel if you have the system option: users must be registered to comment , set to true.
Any other login links out there let me know, and I'll try to make them work automatically.

Scroll down a bit on the page then click this link to see how it works.

How to use the from folder option in the SuperSlider-Show plugin.
Important, there are 3 steps to make this work.

toggle all

open all

close all

Step one

Upload a folder of images to your wp-content folder. Your image folder must be in side of the wp-content folder (where ever you have put it), if you have for example " wp-content/image_sets/set_one" you would set the fromfolder to:
fromfolder='image_sets/set_one'
This will not pull images from sub folders within your defined fromfolder image_sets/set_one.

Step two

Create a post or page and add the fromfolder='your_folder_name' to the short code.
shortcode sample :
[ slideshow fromfolder='image_sets/set_one' linked="lightbox" thumbnails="true"]

Step three

You will also need to attach an image to the page or post.
(using the WordPress media uploader on the post page)
This image does not have to be in your image folder, and it will not be added to the show, but it could be used in extracts and feeds etc. () Also, it will be displayed if the user has javascript disabled.

Note one: thumbnails

If you want to use thumbnails, you will have to use the following naming convention: image = image.jpg, thumb = imaget.jpg . where a simple letter "t" has been added to the image name. Place the thumbnails in the same folder as your images. Aside: you can change the thumbnail suffix in advanced options of the superslider-show options page.

Note two: lightbox

Lightbox will still work as expected. Although since there is just the one image, the lightbox will pop over the same image which has been viewed in the slideshow. So if your image is 800 x 600 and you set the slideshow to 400 x 300, the image will be scaled down in the show, then the popover lightbox will present the image at full size.

Note three: captions

Captions will be the file name with the last 4 digits removed, ie: image.jpg will result in a caption of image. Multiple shows on one page will continue to work as expected.

Note four: image sizes

The search for images in your folder script is set to pull all images over 200px x 200px in size. This way it won't include the thumbnails in the image list. If you want to change this you will need to edit the file superslider-show.php around line #430 and change &minwidth=200 to the minimum size you want to pull. Your actual thumbnails may be any size up to and including 200px . Remember, if you make your thumbnails at for example 80px x 80px you will need to edit the slideshow theme css file to reflect the size you've chosen.

If you aren't sure how this plugin works you may want to read the following.

First ensure that you have uploaded all of the plugin files into wp-content/plugins/superslider-show folder.

Go to your WordPress admin panel and stop in to the plugins control page. Activate the SuperSlider-Show plugin.

Create a new post, use the WordPress built in media uploader.

Click on insert gallery from the media uploader popover panel

Publish your new post

You should be able to view your new slide show in the new post.
You can adjust how the slide show looks and works by making adjustments in the plugin settings page. (SuperSlider-Show).

Using the optional id property in your shortcode.

If you have numerous posts with images and you would like a slideshow of all the images in posts, then create a new post and add the slideshow shortcode with id =” postID, postID, postID″ where postID, etc is the id number of each post, seperated with a comma. Then the slideshow will pull each image from each post. You can enter just one id if that post has all the images which you want in your slideshow

Using the from folder property in your shortcode

Visit this post for a detailed explanation.

Changing your shortcode

The SuperSlider-Show plugin will use gallery as it's default shortcode. This means that any galleries which you have posted with the WordPress gallery shortcode will automatically be displayed as a slideshow. If you want to maintain your galleries as they are you will need to change the shortcode tag option in the SuperSlider-Show options page. Select slideshow, now you can have both, galleries and slideshows. The shortcode which you add to your post or page will now need to be [ slideshow ] . The SuperSlider-Show metabox on your post / page entry screen will add the appropriate shortcode based on your settings.

SuperSlider-Show metabox

The SuperSlider-Show metabox is the fold down panel bellow the text entry field in your edit post / page screen. If you fold this box down you will see numerous options which you may select or not, add data or not, then click the "add show" button at the bottom of the box. This metabox is a shortcode helper, use it to add slideshows. The options are for over-riding your global options which are controlled from the SuperSlider-Show plugin options panel.
